The rumba is a slow, sensuous, romantic dance with much flirtation. Many of the basic figures of the dance have a “tease and run” theme in which the lady first flirts with and then rejects her partner. The sexual overtures can be very aggressive. The Rumba spotlights the lady and in particular her rhythmic body action and sexuality. The slow Latin beat, the rhythmic body and hip action, and the steamy tease and run figures result in routines that can be close to X-rated. Unlike the Cha-Cha which effects a happy, carefree, party-time-like dance expression, the rumba effects a more serious and intense expression.

I made a video playlist with some faboulos rumba rutines:

  1. In first video Alan Tornsberg teach you rumba basic elements on the song of Lionel Richie – Gentelmen;
  2. Then one of the most beautiful rumba songs sung by Shirley Bassey – Never, never, never is beautiful completed by dancing of the champions Donnie Burns and Gaynor Fairweather;
  3. In the third you can enjoy a faboluos demonstration rumba danced again by Donnie Burns and Gaynor Fairweather;
  4. The forth is quite interesting and useful for a lot of us. Russian professional dancers are doing rumba basic movements in the 2010 Russian Championships;
  5. And the final a perfect rumba danced by Slavic and Karina;
